The Illinois Leadership Council for Agricultural Education is a voluntary grassroots agricultural industry group focused on the expansion and improvement of Agricultural Education programs at all levels. ILCAE is primarily an advocacy group focused on legislation, funding, and promotion. ILCAE is responsible for legislation that established the Illinois Committee for Agricultural Education (ICAE) and the Agricultural Education line item in the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) budget.

An Agricultural Education consultant coordinates and administers statewide programs in and about agricultural education such as the FCAE project, Incentive Funding Grant, and the Growing Agricultural Science Teachers (GAST) grant. Its primary mission is state program leadership, planning, approval, funding, and evaluation.
