Geneseo High School, a comprehensive high school of 950 students which is located just north of I-80 in Section 3, is currently accepting applications for a full-time agriculture teacher. The new teacher will be part of a two teacher program with Brian Stahl and will share the FFA responsibilities. Prospective candidates should be capable of teaching Ag Mechanics and Ag Construction. Course topics will include welding, small engines, and basic construction. The courses can easily be expanded to include diesel, advanced welding, multi-cylinder/performance engines, advanced building design and construction. Salary will be commensurate with experience and in accordance with contract, but the range is likely to be between $29,175.49 and 48,410.13 annually. An application deadline has not been set; however, the goal is to hire prior to March 26th.

Illinois Central College is seeking a qualified individual to provide lecture and laboratory instruction and student support activities for the existing Agriculture programs for both Transfer and Applied Science students. Classes include soils, soil fertility, crop science, agricultural business management, harvesting/drying/storing grain, and agricultural credit /finance. Necessary qualifications are a Master’s Degree in Agriculture and 2000 hours of non-teaching experience in agriculture. Skill requirements include planning and operating the forty acre Illinois Central College Agronomy Center. Desirable qualifications include academic specialties in plant and soil sciences; 5 years experience teaching agriculture; 2 years teaching agriculture at the college level. Start date: August 2010. Salary and Rank: The salary and rank for this position will be commensurate with the academic preparation and/or teaching experience of the successful candidate.
