Alumni 212 & WLC Scholarship Applications & Outstanding Chapter & Member Applications

Lori Nelson the Competitive Events & Awards Specialist is now the contact person for all of the Alumni award & scholarship applications.


1.  212 Conference & WLC Scholarship Applications - The IL FFA Alumni is offering scholarships for the Washington Leadership Conference (Juniors) and the 212 Conference (Sophomores).  

  • WLC is a $550 scholarship with $200 towards transportation (we currently do not have the cost of the WLC Conference or when the FFA Bus will be scheduled - watch for these after the first of the year).  
  • The 212 Conference Scholarship will be $100 to cover the cost of registration.  Note:  If the student applying for the 212 scholarship has already attended the 212 Conference on October 6-7, 2017 at the Decatur Conference Center. They can still apply for this scholarship and if they receive the scholarship, the Alumni will reimburse the FFA Chapter the $100 registration fee.


New This Year:  All of the Alumni Scholarship Applications are now on Google - 212 Conference & Washington Leadership Conference (links), and this is the only way the applications will be accepted. Instructions for Alumni Applications:

  • After the student completes the Google Form, the FFA Advisor will receive an email with the signature page & the application.
  • Please get the 5 signatures required to complete the application process - Applicant, Parent/Guardian, Advisor, Principal, and Alumni President.
  • Once the signatures are completed, send in just the signature page to Lori Nelson using one of the following methods:
    • Scan/Email to 
    • Fax to 217-753-3359
    • Mail to IL FFA Alumni, 3221 Northfield Drive, Springfield, IL  62702
  • Please send in the signature page postmarked November 1, 2017.   The FFA Advisors will be notified by email & a list serve after judging takes place.
  • If you have any questions regarding these scholarship applications, please contact Lori Nelson, or 217-753-3328 Ext. 105.


Criteria to apply for an Alumni Scholarship:

  • The scholarships are available to any FFA Chapter that has an active Alumni Affiliate with 10 members by May 15, 2017. 
  • There will only be one application per FFA chapter accepted.  (Please make the decision locally if 2 students have completed the scholarship application for the same conference).

How to win an Alumni Scholarship:

  • Accurate Spelling & Punctuation

  • Follow the attached Rubric when filling out the scholarship application to get the most points in each section.

  • Please make sure that the student is qualified to complete the scholarship application.  We will not be giving a scholarship just because an application was sent in to the Alumni.

  • Bonus Section - For Alumni Activity/Involvement - Each activity is worth five points.


2.  National FFA Alumni Outstanding Member Application - Do you know of an Alumni member that has gone out of their way with your Alumni, volunteers, and a great all around person?  The National FFA Alumni Outstanding Member Awards are given in recognition of FFA Alumni members for outstanding leadership and service to agricultural education, FFA, and FFA Alumni.


Please complete this application 2018 Outstanding Achievement Award or use the attached application.  Once these applications are judged, the nominating person will be notified whether the nomination has won or not.   The winner will receive their award as a surprise at the Alumni Annual Conference on January 26-27, 2018 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Champaign, Illinois. Then their application will be sent to National FFA Alumni for them to possibly become a national winner.

3.  National FFA Alumni Outstanding Chapter Application (2018 Outstanding FFA Alumni Chapter Award Application)  The Outstanding Chapter Award honors FFA Alumni Chapter for outstanding accomplishments and serve to encourage other chapters to further their own achievements.  Any active alumni (10 members) can apply for this award.  (Rubric - 2018 Outstanding FFA Alumni Chapter Rubric)
