1.  Chapter Baskets - The following FFA Chapters have won a FFA Leadership Camp Scholarship from the Chapter Basket Contest that was held at the IL FFA Alumni Annual Meeting on January 27-28, 2017.  The baskets were judged and the "Best Basket" will receive 2 FFA Leadership Camp Alumni Scholarships.  The auction of the Chapter Baskets raised enough money to give everyone that brought a Chapter Basket a camp scholarship.  Congratulations to all!

Last week we announced the IL FFA Leadership Camp Alumni Scholarship Winners from the students that filled out our scholarship application.  It is possible some schools will get more than one camp scholarship.

 

2.  2017 Gator Raffle - Tickets are on sale for a John Deere PR-15 XUV 560 Gator.  Would you like to sell and/or purchase tickets?  Would you like to have the Gator at your event?  This year we have Gator Flyers available to post at your school and/or business. Please contact Patti Davis at pdavis@illinoisffa.org or by calling (217) 753-3328 Ext. 107 for more information. 

The prices for the Gator tickets are as follows:

  • 1 for $10
  • 3 for $25
  • 20 for $100

The winning ticket will be drawn at the Illinois State FFA Convention on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.  The winner will be responsible for all taxes.  The FFA Chapter or Alumni that sells the winning ticket will receive $300.  The Illinois FFA Alumni will continue to give a percentage of the amount of tickets sold by the FFA Chapter and/or Alumni. 

 

3.  Alumni Chapters - Tax Exempt Status - For the Alumni Chapters that have a Tax Exempt Status, please be sure to renew your tax exempt status with the IRS by May 15, 2017.  If you do not do this, then you could lose your 501c3 status, and being linked to the National FFA Alumni group extension (please review the attached document).  If questions regarding your tax exempt status, please contact the IRS.
