IFG Amendments/Funds

Thursday, May 16, 2019

Superintendents/Principals/Ag Teachers

Greetings from ISBE!

See below for information related to the surplus allocations that were allocated in April and your budget amendments:

  1. Your amendments are considered “substantially approved” if your original applications for Incentive Funding were previously approved.
  2. ”Substantially approved” means that funds can be expended as soon as the amendment is officially submitted to ISBE for Review. To check, log in to the amendment in IWAS and navigate to the Submit tab. If this page indicates the amendment is “Submitted for Review” to ISBE (not to district entity) you are safe to expend the funds.
  3. ISBE requires me to have a response recorded to each application/amendment within 14 days of submission.
  4. I am working through them as quickly as I can. The amendment submission timing happened to coincide with critical deadlines related to the submission of our Perkins V State Transition Plan (with the full State Plan to be in progress next). The exciting part of this is that your favorite agricultural education consultant (me) is playing a very instrumental role in leading the CTE team efforts in drafting this plan. This means that AgEd is very much at the table and we are having significant input in the development of this plan for Illinois. Unfortunately, it is putting a lot on my plate.
