mAGic Kits - Now Aligned to Illinois Learning Standards

Wednesday, July 26, 2017

*Sent to All Teachers & Ag Literacy Coordinators

The mAGic (Multidisciplinary AGricultural Integrated Curriculum) Kits have been updated as of May 2017 to reflect the current Illinois Standards for English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Social Studies and Science.

For those of you who are not familiar with the kits:
The curriculum in the mAGic kits are multidisciplinary, all inclusive, and designed to bring agriculture to life in your classroom. These kits were created under the leadership of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and Facilitating Coordination in Agricultural Education Project (FCAE).

Current kits are designed for grades K-8, but also have applications in grades 9-12. Kit topics include Dairy, Illinois, Insect, Machines, Plants, Poultry, and Soils.

Where can you find the kits and the updates?
Go to and login (if you need login information, please contact me or your local program advisor). Click on the Educator Resources tab and select Teacher's Toolbox from the dropdown menu. Select Kits - mAGic & AgSci.

Upon opening each kit you will see the new standards on the first page of the document. If you would like a complete listing of the standards in one document, this can also be found in the same location listed above.
