FFA Membership

Items in this message:

  1. FFA Roster Instructions
  2. Advisor Transfers on
  3. Student Transfers on
  4. AET Subscriptions

1.  FFA Roster Instructions

National FFA has made numerous updates to their website that involve the membership area as well as all the profile management for advisors and members.  It has been a very hectic week while they try to work out all the issues an update of this volumn creates.  To safe-guard everyone's personal information, they have made it so that the responisibilty of being on the roster is falling more on the member.  It is National's philosophy that the member will set up a profile and request to be added to the chapter roster.  The advisor will approve them at the local level and submit the roster to the state, who will then approve it to National FFA.  Attached are instructions that should help you with the renewal and addition of new members.

Help instructions on the National website can be found by clicking on the wrench icon that is located in the upper right corner of some pages.

If your chapter uses AET, you can still complete the member information on AET and then submit it to National FFA for membership renewal.  Once you have submitted the members from AET to National FFA, the advisor needs to go to the manage roster area then choose pending memberships on the left side to submit those members to the state level.

Please remember that the deadline in Illinois to have your roster completed is November 1.  In addition to having the roster submitted to state, you also need to have the membership form completed and the dues paid all by November 1.  Membership Forms link will take you to the location on the Illinois FFA website where the membership form for both dues chapters and new affiliated chapters can be found and downloaded.

2.  Advisors that have transferred to a new school

The state no longer can make the transfer of an advisor from one chapter to another.  That needs to be requested by the advisor that has changed schools.  The state office will receive notification of the request and make that approval. Transfer instructions can be found at that link.

3.  Students that have transferred to a new school

If you have a student that has moved over the summer or any time during the school year and they are transferring from a previous FFA chapter to your chapter, they need to request to make that transfer.  They need to go to their profile information to make the request.  You as the new advisor for that student will need to approve the transfer.

4.  AET

The state subscription trial for AET record system expires in October 15, 2017.  If you choose to continue to use AET, you will need to arrange for  payment of your members' subscriptions with AET.  Click here for the listserv message about AET that was sent on August 11, 2017.  THANK YOU!

If you have a transfer member who was using AET at their previous school and they want to continue to use AET, you just need to contact AET by email at and request them to update the chapter for your member.
