1. FCAE Improving Agricultural Education Programs Mini-Grant

Attached is the 2017-2018 Improving Agricultural Education Programs (IAEP) mini-grant application.  School districts with an approved agricultural education program are eligible to apply for up to $10,000 to complete a program improvement project.  Applicants must secure local funds to match a minimum of 50% of the requested grant amount.  The applications are no later than January 31, 2018.  Implementation of this competitive mini-grant is contingent upon the availability of funds.

2. Student Teacher Mini-Grants

FCAE is offering $1000 mini-grants to Agricultural Education students who are enrolled in Illinois Universities and will be student teaching in Illinois during the 2017-2018 school-year.  It is FCAE’s intent to offer this mini-grant annually.

Recipients who fully intend to teach agriculture in Illinois will receive the first $750 at the completion of assigned deliverables.  The remaining $250 will be paid if the recipient accepts a high school agriculture teaching position in Illinois and commits to enroll in the Ag Ed 499 Beginning Teacher’s course.  Contact your University Agricultural Education professor, an FCAE Program Advisor, or Jess Smithers for more information.

3. National FFA SAE Grant

The National FFA is once again offering $1000 grants to start or expand member SAE’s.  The SAE Grant application deadline is November 15th.  Please promote this opportunity to your students.  More information is available at this link and a document with directions on how to apply is attached.
