Morrison High School, located in Section 2 in central Whiteside County, has a full-time opening for an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor for the 2018-2019 school year.  This is will be the second year of the brand-new program, which has generated outstanding support from the community, administration, and school district.  Classes to be taught may include Ag Mechanics & Technology (welding and engines), Ag Construction & Technology, BSAA Plant & Animal Science (science credit), Environmental Science & Natural Resources (science credit), Food Science (science credit), Introduction to the Ag Industry, and Ag Business Management and Sales (consumer education credit).  Facilities include a classroom with a large shop and spacious storage. Plans for the brand-new welding shop are in progress and the new teacher will have an influence on the design and layout.  An active FFA Alumni chapter was started this year as well.  Strong connections with various businesses and community organizations have already been established.

A stipend for the FFA Advisor was recently negotiated, but the Morrison school district was a recipient of the Three Circles (FFA & SAE) Grant, which pays for a 12-month extended contract.
