Monday, November 19, 2018

*** Sent to All Contacts

Items in this listserv:

1.  American FFA Degree Information

2.  2018 - 2019 Illinois FFA State Degree application information.

1.) American FFA Degree Information

Please click here to complete the American FFA Degree intent due by Friday, January 15, 2019.  The American FFA Degree Intent is not required to complete the American FFA Degree Process.  If you do not complete the intent by January 15, 2018, you can still fill it out at any time after that, but please understand when it comes to interviewing time preferences it is first come first serve.

The American FFA Degree Information Sheet includes all of the information and deadlines necessary to complete the American FFA Degree Process.

To help provide you with as much assistance as possible in completing your American Degree application, we are going to be hosting two webinars.  The webinar dates will be:

  • Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 3:45 p.m.

  • Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at 5:00 p.m.

Each webinar is scheduled to last about an hour.  However there will be time for questions, so the length of the webinar may vary slightly. The webinars are also posted on the channel where all webinars/videos are being posted: https://www.youtube.com/user/ILAgEd/videos

ATTENDANCE IS OPTIONAL BUT STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.

You do need to register if you plan on attending a webinar.  The webinars are being conducted to provide you with assistance and answer any questions you have. Your attendance at a webinar is not mandatory, however, it is encouraged as there have been changes made to the application recently. Webinar registration information:

2.) 2018-2019 Illinois FFA State Degree application information.

The application is accessed from AET for students and teachers.  Go to www.theaet.com or click here to open AET.

  1. Login to AET

  2. Click on Reports

  3. Click on FFA Awards Degree/Application Manager

  4. Click on Add New Application drop-down box

  5. Select Illinois State FFA Degree

  6. The application is automatically locked to AET records.  To unlock the application and allow you to enter your data into the application OPEN the instructions page of the application. #12 allows you to disconnect from AET and enter values.  ("12.  This application is locked to your AET records. All editing is through AET. Click Here to unlock this application. You can always reload another application that is connected to AET records." )

  7. Begin entering values into the application.

  8. All student access FFA awards using AET Reports and Degree Application Manager.

  9. Teachers log into AET and choose Reports and Degree Application Manager to view their students with state degrees.

Illinois State FFA Degree:

  • The Instructions page of the application (#12) allows a student to "Disconnect" from AET and enter values.

  • The application once disconnected from AET will then NOT be completed from AET and values entered into the award application are standalone values.

  • Care should be taken...connecting a "disconnected" application back to AET will ERASE entered data into the application..since it connects back to AET records.

The manual review sheet is the last page of the PDF (Checksheet), so once online portion is complete, the print part will develop a PDF version and the manual review sheet checks must be completed.

If any areas of the online application areas are NOT MET, the application can be printed but will be a DRAFT.

The state degree application will be similar to the American FFA Degree application, it will include a checklist, but the checklist does not appear until you are ready to print.  The checklist does not affect the application or any items within the application.  The checklist will be smaller than previous state FFA Degree checklists due to the automatic fills and checks within the application.  All of the information on the checklist is available within the application, however, the checklist ensures the Section review committees can catch issues prior to applications advancing.  The manual review sheet is the last page of the PDF (Checksheet), so once online portion is complete, the print part will develop a PDF version and the manual review sheet checks must be completed.

To help provide you with as much assistance as possible in completing the State FFA Degree application, we are going to be hosting one webinar this year.  The webinar date will be:

  • Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at 3:30 p.m.

The webinar will also be posted on the channel where all webinars/videos are posted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JonvZvejCv8

The webinar is being conducted to provide you with assistance and answer any questions you have. Webinar registration information:
