FY20 Ag Grant Changes - Effective Nov 9, 2018

Hi Ag Teachers-

We appreciate your efforts in educating students, working with school and community stakeholders, and meeting deadlines.

The IAVAT ICAE Advisory Committee, chaired by Rylan Rusk(Olney), has met making these recommendations to the FY20 Incentive Ag Grant application due June 30, 2019.  ICAE approved the recommendations at their meeting on November 8, 2018.  IAVAT Board approved the recommendations at their meeting on November 9, 2018.

Below are the changes in red effective today for funding in FY20:
A.4 - The agricultural education teacher(s) assumed a current year leadership role in one or more of the following: (2x maximum - 1x for each)

-Add additional leadership role
-g. IACTE and/or NAAE Leadership Position or Committee 

-A.4.a - Change help for IAVAT Committee:  
New - The ag teacher attended 3 committee meetings, July 1 - June 30. IAVAT section officers are listed in the IAVAT directory with the fair chair classified as a section officer. The ag teacher or their representative was identified as the host of the IAVAT/FFA Career Development Event. For credit of schools co-hosting a CDE, ag teacher should explain the role of the co-host in the email. 

Current - The teacher was an active participant, attending a majority of all meetings. Official IAVAT Section officers are listed in the IAVAT Directory. The Section Fair Chair is classified as an IAVAT Section Officer. The agricultural education teacher or their representative was identified by the affiliate as the official host/coordinator of IAVAT/FFA Career Development Event(s). For credit of schools co-hosting a CDE, ag teacher should explain the role of the co-host in the email.

-Increase from 26x to 27x
-Add a 3rd Minimum Standard:
    -$100 contribution to the Illinois Foundation FFA by a donor or chapter
        was made by credit card or check by June 1st each year. (0x)

-E.11  The FFA Chapter has identified a local chapter representative to the Illinois Foundation FFA and promoted community contributions to the annual foundation campaign for state sponsored leadership activities. The level of support was:

           2X   b. $2000-2999
           3x   c. $3000-3999
           4X  d. $4000+

-E.13 - Change wording
New - FFA membership meets or exceeds the total unduplicated student agriculture course enrollment. (2x)
New Help - Verified by FFA Center and agriculture course enrollment in AET. 

Current - The FFA Chapter received the Century Challenge Award for 100% FFA membership. (2x)
Current Help - FFA membership is equal to or greater than enrollment in agricultural education to qualify for the Century Challenge.

-Total IFGA quality indicators increase by 1 from 121 to 122x.
