Events to Strengthen Ag & CTE Programs - Please Attend

Monday, December 03, 2018

*Sent to all contacts and administrators.

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and the Illinois Community College Board will host a listening tour to gather input on how to strengthen career-connected learning for all students in Illinois. Feedback from business, community, and educational leaders will inform ISBE’s five-year plan for career and technical education (CTE) in the state.  More info.

ISBE requests feedback to improve CTE program development and evaluation so all students graduate with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes to thrive in their chosen path after high school.

Please plan to attend to identify ways to value CTE courses as meeting graduation and college entrance requirements.   Please share with others within your school district and community stakeholders.

Registration for the below events is now availableClick to register.  If the event shows closed email,  Whitney.Thompson@Illinois.gov or marjohns@isbe.net to attend.

The development of the five-year plan coincides with other statewide efforts, including Illinois’ competency-based learning pilot, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act implementation, Postsecondary and Career ExpectationsPDF Document framework, college and career pathway diploma endorsements, and multiple-measure definition of college and career readinessPDF Document for accountability.

Stakeholders can submit feedback via email to Perkins@isbe.net and learn more at www.isbe.net/CTE.
