Section 9 Teacher Meeting- FCAE Update

Wednesday, January 09, 2019

Greetings Section 9 Teachers!

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend your meeting tonight due to section meeting scheduling conflicts. I have sent a folder of materials along to the meeting with Tammy Miller, and I am attaching my report to this message so that you can use the digital links provided in the report.

A few items I'd like to point out:

  • Tammy will pass around a sign-up sheet for school visit scheduling. Please feel free to use these proposed dates or email me to request other dates/times.
  • Please ensure all course rosters have been entered in AET and that students have completed profile selections for BOTH semesters, and include Jr. High and independent study students.
  • Ag Incentive Funding Grant amendments are due by the end of April, and PLEASE make sure all of your grant funds are spent by the end of June.
  • If you begin to enter Vo-Ag fair students and their names do not appear in your list, please contact me to have those names added.
  • You will need to attend a workshop to access the curriculum resources of the new NGSS/State Standards "Animal Biology" and "Plant Biology" courses. As of right now we have a workshop scheduled at both 212 locations, please try to make it to one of these workshops if you are able to.
  • Illinois Ag In The Classroom has two newly revised Ag Mags that you might find useful when planning your FFA week activities. Dairy and Illinois History are both available from your Ag Literacy Coordinator.

Thank you for all you do for your students and Ag Education. I appreciate the opportunity to serve you. If there is ever anything I can do to help you or make your job easier please let me know!
