2.  FFA Teacher Ambassadors-Application Open

We are excited to announce that the application to become a National FFA Teacher Ambassador for the 2019-2020 school year is now open until March 1st. If you know of a teacher who is well respected in your state, able to present workshops, active on social media, and willing to provide feedback to National FFA, please forward them this opportunity.

Many state staff utilize ambassadors to present information during summer/winter workshops and teacher trainings. Additionally, National FFA Teacher Ambassadors can serve as a peer-to-peer resource to help teachers within your state by being available to answer questions throughout the year.

3.  Illinois Pork Producers Scholarships

The Illinois Pork Producers Association proudly awards nine students with a scholarship each school year. Three levels are awarded:

(3) Gold Scholarships at $2,000 each;

(3) Silver Scholarships at $1,500 each;

(3) Bronze Scholarships at $1,000 each.

Funding for these scholarships is made possible through the Keppy Foundation. Applicants must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or be enrolling to begin in the Fall of 2019 to be eligible. IPPA Scholarships are open to students pursuing any undergraduate degree at any two-year or four-year college. Previous winners may apply again.

IPPA also hosts the following scholarship applications:

  • Adam Fesser Scholarship: (1) $1,000 award (sponsored by the Mid-Illinois Pork Producers Association)
  • Ryan & Friends Scholarship: (4) $2,000 awards (sponsored by the Purebred Swine Council)

Deadline is midnight on March 1, 2019.

Applications may be submitted via mail or email.

4.  Major State Officer Candidate Application 

The Illinois FFA State Officer Candidate Application and Information can be found on the www.illinoisffa.org website under General Downloads.  

5.  National Chapter Award Judges Needed

Calling all interested Ag Teachers and friends - if you happen to be interested in volunteering to judge Round 1 or Round 2, please click here.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about the National Chapter Award application process and what quality National Chapter Award applications look like. This is a great opportunity for all teachers and friends to see what amazing things are taking place through FFA Chapters around the state.  All volunteers are welcome!  

Please make sure that your Section is represented, take time to talk as a Section to ensure someone from your Section serves as a judge.

National FFA week beings Sunday, February 17th and goes through Saturday, February, 23rd. Illinois FFA will be celebrating with a social media challenge!

Here is the schedule for the week: 

Sunday: SAE Sunday- Display your SAE and tell us what you've learned

Monday: Memorable Monday- Share your favorite FFA memory or award you have won 

Tuesday: Teacher Tuesday- Show your appreciation for your Ag teacher and FFA advisor

Wednesday: Wayback Wednesday- Throwback to your first blue jacket experience

Thursday: Tell Your Story Thursday- What's your chapter is up to during FFA week 

Friday: Future Friday- Share your future plans - career, college, etc. 

Saturday: Supporter Saturday- Tell us about your biggest supporter
