Nokomis Junior/ Senior High School in Montgomery County, Section 19 is seeking applicants for a Full-Time Agriculture Education Instructor to teach agriculture courses and related vocational topics in addition to current teacher, Mr. Randy Meyer.  


  1. Must possess a Professional Educator’s License with endorsements in Agriculture and Secondary Education as approved by the State of Illinois.  Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree and successfully completed student teaching.  Middle School Endorsement if applicable.
  2. Must have recent (within 5 years) Agriculture education teaching experience (which may include student teaching) or must have recent (within 5 years) courses of study in Agriculture education.  Must have relevant experience in Agriculture education. 
  3. Must be familiar with the use of computers including but not limited to electronic mail, the Internet, word processing, and electronic spreadsheets (Microsoft Office).
  4. Establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with those contacted in the course of work (students, parents, and staff).
  5. Ability to understand and follow proficient oral and written instructions.
  6. Ability to communicate to students, parents and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner.
  7. Ability to learn District curriculum and effectively implement.
  8. Ability to continually attend and update teaching knowledge through Professional Development as required by the State.
  9. Ability to organize, maintain, and change a multitude of materials.
  10. Ability to use copy machine and other equipment

Additional Notes:   Applicants will be expected to work as a team within the Agriculture Department to continue the successful program already in place and increase course offerings for students.
